At the risk of seeming a little obsessed, here is a report I wrote about education & transition in SL. After seeing Virtual Bali on OneClimate Island I offered to re-landscape it & add a context (the five elements) for climate change education. You can visit the island here (take a tandem ride around for the best overview) and my student project (original drawing) now acts as a gig venue & info centre, renamed the EcoSpiral (visit here - good set to midnight), with an Ecovideo pod showing short climate change videos. There is also a virtual allotment & many other exhibits. We hosted Virtual Poznan & Virtual Copenhagen on the island. Above the island hovers a Green Expo, where the '350 in the metaverse' event took place (video), which also has a Planetarium (jump on zero gravity ball), an Orrery (walk over the bridge) & a 'real' night sky globe, projecting live images from a nightcam on the Isle of Wight. Flickr pics here. I'm also hosting the virtual House that Twitters, visits by appointment. .... geek, moi?

I would be interested to discuss about experiences arranging meetings in SL? You are also welcome to come and visit Howzee in SL. http://tinyurl.com/howzee

Hi Everyone,

How are you? Hope all is well with you. Just a quick question, are we all have projects in Second Life or similar virtual worlds? Or are we just interested in exploring the potential of virtual worlds for architectual practice?

Have we organised any event so far? If we are all in Second Life or other virtual worlds, maybe we may meet up virtually to have a group discussion about its potential for architectual practice? What is your opinion?

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks and all the best,

Christina^_^

Hi guys just noticed you have SL section :-) have been working on several design projects in SL over the past couple of years, predominantly user centred experience / content design. We did share part of a large grid (sim) at one time but now renting a small plot just so we have a plot to meet people in Second places, so plz come in. Most of our main research and development now on/ in opensim. Currently developing a large Osim project. Anybody interested in meeting up in SL for chat please use this link http://slurl.com/secondlife/Imperial%20Island/18/68/26
Would be great to see you :-) SteveF drop me an email if you would like to meet up ..cya
